Query Language

The text search engine allows queries to be formed from arbitrary Boolean expressions containing the keywords AND, OR, and NOT, and grouped with parentheses. For example:

shampoo bar

finds documents containing 'shampoo' or 'bar'

shampoo or bar

same as above

shampoo and bar

finds documents containing both 'shampoo' and 'bar'

shampoo not bar

finds documents containing 'shampoo' but not 'bar'

(shampoo not bar) and lavender

finds documents containing 'lavender', plus 'shampoo' but not 'bar'

shampoo*

finds documents containing words starting with 'shampoo'
